CCT Venues wins Chairman’s Cup at the Clean City Awards 2016. CCT Venues has won the Chairman’s Cup at the Corporation of London Clean City Awards 2016 for environmentally responsible waste management.

This prestigious accolade was presented at a celebratory lunch at The Mansion House, by Sir Christopher Bear, for The Lord Mayor of London, and Wendy Mead OBE Chairman of the Port Health and Environmental Services Committee, in recognition of the meeting, conference and training venue provider’s green initiatives.

These include recycling carpet and furniture and reducing food wastage to less than 2%, making CCT Venues one of the most environmentally friendly venues for clients needing meeting space across the capital.

The Clean City Awards Scheme was established in 1994, with the purpose of supporting and encouraging businesses to ‘Reduce, Reuse and Recycle’. CCT Venues was recognised for activities including giving furniture which was no longer needed to local homeless charities; recycling more than 2,000sqm of carpet; saving 0.8 tonnes of paper hand towels by installing high-quality hand dryers; and reupholstering nearly 300 chairs and recycling all the material from them - even using the seat foam to wrap sapling trees.

Caroline Bull, CEO comments:
‘’At CCT Venues we are passionate about preserving the environment. Marika Dekker and the team at our City of London Venue worked incredibly hard over many years to improve the efficiency of our waste management across all of our training, conference and meetings venues. We are extremely proud to be recognised for taking another step in the journey of providing client with environmentally friendly venue space in Central London and Canary Wharf.

The Clean City Awards scheme has encouraged us to make improvements in all areas of our venue business and we’ve won accolades in recognition of this for the past eight years. We are very
proud this year to have won the prestigious Chairman’s Cup”.
