HBAA CEO Dinner 2010

30 CEO’s from the UK’s leading agencies, hoteliers and venues gathered at Trinity House in Tower Hill, London last night to discuss the future of the industry.

This annual event is an opportunity for both booking agents and senior executives from chain & independent hotels and meeting & event venues to impartially discuss the state of the market, forecasts for the year ahead, CSR, trends and industry initiatives. It is also a key opportunity for agents, hoteliers and venues to develop their collaborative working practices.

CEOs at the 2010 event included De Vere Venues Tony Dangerfield, Charles Prew from Barcelo Hotels & Resorts and Kurt Kuen from Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts.

Stephen Usher, Chairman of the HBAA, said: “The evening was a great success with some rich discussion on topical issues.  Topics ranged from creating a simple events contract for small meetings, the effect of the ash cloud with the need for crisis planning for the future exceptional situations, engaging with senior corporate buyers via our newly formed Wise Council and discussions also led on to the Olympics, the World Cup bid and even the importance of websites such as Trip Advisor”.

“I was honoured to pay tribute to our special guest Peter Rand and give a toast to him in his future retirement. Peter was the pioneer in UK venue finding agencies and a great inspiration to many of us”.

“Trinity House was a fantastic and interesting venue for our CEO dinner, a beautiful grade 1 listed building that was previously unknown to most of our guests”.
