The ninth edition of The Meetings Show takes place at ExCel London, and virtually, from September 30 to October 1 with plenty planned for hotel booking agents.

The hybrid event brings the MICE sector together to meet, make connections and to learn how to get the very best from 2021/2022’s new-look landscape.

A key date in the calendar for agents, The Meetings Show optimises their valuable time at the show through its popular hosted buyer programme. Pre-qualified buyers attending the event in-person are offered free transport and accommodation and an invitation to an exclusive party at the Hard Rock Hotel in London, held in association with Moulden Marketing.

Representatives from trade associations, agencies, conference organisers, corporates, incentive houses, venue-finding agencies and charities are matched with the show’s hosted buyer standard. Based on the number and scale of events organised, budgets held and decision-making capacity, it generates a powerful proposition on the show floor or via premium virtual visit for those unable to attend.

The Meetings Show hosted buyer programme leaves qualifying individuals to decide which exhibitors they want to see, via a dedicated appointments diary, and offers access to its sought-after content between those meetings.

For those seeking inspiration and insight between meetings, the Education Programme at The Meetings Show provides plenty. It features more than 30 education sessions, split across five learning theatres this year: Innovation and Industry Trends, My Career and Personal Development, Event Marketing, Event Technology and Meeting Design.

Sourced to reflect progressive thinking, it’s about what’s next and lessons learned rather than ‘What just happened?’ Subjects include Off-the-shelf or bespoke? Senior hosted buyer account manager at The Meetings Show, Luke Roberts, said: “For any number of reasons people have limited time they can justify being out of the office. The Meetings Show 2021 will be a safe environment, in-person and on-line, where every minute can be spent productively.

“The virtual event last year taught us so much and our hosted buyer programme will deliver on its physical and remote promise as a result. By its very nature, the traditional meetings world took some big punches over the last 18 or so months and the show is a key part of redressing that balance, putting exhibitors in front of the best people to network ideas and solutions.”

Belfast, Newcastle Gateshead, Leeds, Liverpool, Nottingham, London and Brighton are among a growing list of British destinations confirmed for The Meetings Show 2021, each bearing comprehensive, up-to-date detail about event sites, hotels and hospitality in the city.

There will be a weight of international destinations too, with similar ambition, including convention bureaux from the likes of Abu Dhabi, Estonia, Georgia, Gibraltar, Hungary, Istanbul, Las Vegas, Luxemburg and Malta alongside a similar weight of tourist boards and hotel chains.
